Family & Community Support

UP provides services for children, youth, and adults to either remain in the family home or re-integrate with their families and community.

Family integration & community support services

The Bridges program is offered in partnership with Edmonton Area Child and Family Services (Child Intervention/Child Protection Services). It focuses on the partnership of Unlimited Potential and Family Services working collaboratively with children, youth, and families to ensure safety, wellbeing, and helping build individual support networks in their own communities. The program also helps transition older youth in care to independence. Our areas of service are West Central, St Albert and Spruce Grove and the surrounding areas.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) services

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is a diagnostic term used to describe impacts on the brain and body of individuals prenatally exposed to alcohol. FASD is a lifelong disability and individuals with FASD will experience some degree of challenges in their daily living, and need support with motor skills, physical health, learning, memory, attention, communication, emotional regulation, and social skills to reach their full potential. Each individual with FASD is unique and has areas of both strengths and challenges.

UP has programs for both adult and children with possible or diagnosed FASD. For adults we have the Open Arms Program. It is a long term voluntary advocacy program that works along side their participants in supporting them in the barriers and challenges which may arise.

Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge Treaty 6 territory—the traditional and ancestral territory of the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux , Nakota Sioux and Métis Peoples. We acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have lived in and cared for these lands since time immemorial. We respect their histories, languages, and cultures whose presence continues to enrich our community. We are grateful for the traditional Elders and Knowledge Keepers who are still with us today and those who have gone before us. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we are visiting and striving to live in harmony with.
